Very late I am. Almost a full week after the event, I finally muster up some time to write here about last weekend's action at Killarney. As you should know, we had the national Wesbank Super Series down to put on a display like no other in this country.
With the exception of the clubmans class, we had all the usuals. Superbikes, Polo Cup, the thundering V8's and all the others. All of whom put on a sterling show.
Morning qualifying saw a number of bike incidents... with two of them happening meters from me. I was standing on the wall in turn one, and the Supersport class (600cc) saw Hilton Redlinghuys tuck his front wheel and slide into the tyre barrier. He hurt his hand which counted him out of the racing, and with a bike peeing oil into the sand trap, it was probably for the better.

Next down (on my corner) was Shaun Whyte. Last year's SA champ. Not hurt, and the bike salvageable, he still managed to keep going for the day.
I'll not go into too much more detail as it's all covered in this article on the cars and this one on the bikes from iol.co.za.

There was a quality drifting show after the day's racing and I got some great pics. Sparking tyre metal and smoking rubber... it's all good!
The pictures are a work in progress, and we'll have them done as soon as we can. Your patience appreciated and if you want a pic of something specific, please email me.
